Terpenes are produced in the nozzle structures on the above-ground parts of the hemp plant. Terpenes are said to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Terpenes are contained in the essential oil of cannabis (CBD).

Terpenes and the entourage effect
The terpenes in our CBD oils are responsible for the typical hemp scent. But as I said, they don't just smell good, they also support the positive effect of the cannabinoids. By the way: scientists speak of an "entourage effect" with regard to terpenes: this means that the effect of the hemp plant is greater than the sum of its parts.
Terpenes and their effects
There is an incredibly high number of different terpenes; scientists have characterized the molecular structure of around 20,000 terpenes. And now guess how many of them are found in the hemp plant? A total of 200 different terpenes have been found in the plant. The suspected effects range from anti-inflammatory, mood-enhancing and sleep-inducing to anti-inflammatory.
Certificate of Analysis Terpenes
Many researchers assume that this is the case, that hemp extracts, which contain not only CBD but also the broad spectrum of natural terpenes of the hemp planthave a better effect. Therefore, the motto is to use the richest possible natural hemp extract instead of isolated CBD. We have also committed ourselves to this motto with our HANS CBD oils. But to make sure we're not just talking steam, we have had our oils analysed in an independent laboratory using a gas chromatography flame ionization detector (that's a wonderful word). You can see what such a certificate of analysis looks like here:
